Festive Pantomime 'Hansel and Gretel' Comes to Down

Released: 25 November 2011

Down Arts Centre is pleased to welcome c21 Theatre Company’s production of last year’s box-office hit show, Hansel and Gretel, which will be performed on Friday 2 December at The Great Hall, Downshire Estate, Downpatrick, 7pm.

c21 are delighted to be back on stage with the world famous story of the young girl and boy who get lost in the forest and stumble across an old woman’s candy house.

Hansel and Gretel are the young children of a poor woodcutter and his wife, a family so penniless that they're almost starving. The children encounter a magical house in the woods, made entirely of sweets and inhabited by a Witch who is quite determined to have Hansel and Gretel as part of the menu for her supper! Using the cautionary fairytale of the Brothers Grimm for inspiration, c21 have created the ideal show for children at Christmas.

To purchase tickets (adult £7 / child £5) and for further information please contact the Down Arts Centre box office on 028 4461 0747. The complete Down Arts Centre season programme is available at www.downartscentre.com
